  • They must not possess Korean nationality.
  • In order to be eligible to apply for a doctoral program, students must possess a master’s degree prior to applying. In order to be eligible for a master’s program, a student must have a bachelor’s degree or be on track to obtain one at the time of application.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree that is equivalent to Korea’s bachelor’s degree in order to apply.
  • There should be no previous education received from any country outside of South Korea for students of Korean ethnicity. The parents of the child must not be citizens of South Korea.
  • The KAIST University Scholarship requires that candidates meet certain criteria in relation to their English language proficiency in order to be considered for the scholarship.
